Brno, Czech Republic

When we think of the Czech Republic, our mind wanders to those loud, booze-filled stag dos headed straight for Prague. But a visit to Brno, the county’s second city, allows you to take full advantage of the Czech lifestyle minus the lads and the lager. Don’t miss a visit to the baroque Cathedral of St Peter and Paul, where panoramic views of the city are guaranteed, while the spectacular Moravian Karst and caves – a labyrinth of more than a thousand underground caves and gorges – will fill any day with fun. Museums and galleries are also bountiful with stunning collections of visual art and graphic design. The best bit? As in Prague, affordable food and drink are at your fingertips, so make the most of the city’s pubs and restaurants for artisan beers and local grub.
