10 running rules you should be following

Create milestones to keep you motivated

When you are new to running you should make yourself little targets, such as completing one mile without stopping. Then as you get fitter continue challenging yourself with harder targets, such as completing 5K in under thirty minutes.

Little tests such as these are what keep you striving for more and really give you the running bug. Some people will be content with keeping goals small and personal to them, but others will move on to bigger targets like marathons. Once you’re at that stage, running will be a way of life rather than a hobby.

Recording these little victories is another way to remind you how far you have come, and how far you have left to go. But remember to always celebrate them! This doesn’t mean buying yourself balloons and throwing a party (unless you want to), but sharing your achievements with others, posting on social media or even displaying your medals or certificates – if you are lucky enough to achieve them.
