Davina’s 5 Weeks to Sugar-Free
Oh, my, gosh. If we had got our hands on McCall’s cookbook earlier, we would have been the ultimate domestic goddess by now. According to the book, it takes five weeks to curb a sweet tooth but we’ll tell you that it takes about three with these recipes. Healthy eating plans tend to give you really basic recipes that can be boring and bland, but these are full of colour, taste and, most importantly, you won’t be missing out on any of the actual good stuff. Cutting out sugar may mean waving goodbye to white pasta, flour, bread and processed foods but if we still get the pleasure of eating bacon, chorizo and good old fish and chips every now and again, the cookbook has our vote. Each section contains some pretty impressive recipes but we’ve taken to Davina’s ‘Main Meals’: the Chicken and Roast Veg Tray Bake, French classic Cassoulet and Slow-Roast Moroccan Lamb are amazing for dinners and they all look superb when served (dinner party round ours anyone?).
