As well as offering a great pre-gym protein hit, this sunflower protein cookies recipe is a good source of vitamin E. This particular nutrient is vital for beautiful skin, and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular benefits.
Sunflower seeds are also a good source of magnesium, which has been shown to reduce the severity of asthma, lower high blood pressure, and prevent migraine headaches, as well as reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Ingredients (serves 4-6)
30g Pulsin’ sunflower seed protein powder
20g cashew nut butter
10g agave syrup
10g dark chocolate chips
20ml liquid egg whites
20g rolled oats
Method
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl to create your cookie dough.
Shape the dough into four medium (or six small) ‘balls.’
Flatten each of these ‘balls’ (to form cookies) and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 180°C for about ten minutes or until the cookies have started to brown on top (check on them after eight minutes).
