Raspberry pisco smash

Dose up on antioxidants and phytonutrients with this raspberry pisco smash.

This raspberry pisco smash is my spin on a pisco sour, which is one of my favourite drinks. This drink is packed with fresh raspberries that are high in phytonutrients and antioxidants.

Ingredients (serves 2)

80g fresh raspberries

25ml agave nectar

80ml pisco (I use Soldeica)

40ml lemon juice

2 small egg whites

Ice cubes

Extra raspberries, to garnish

Equipment

Metal cocktail shaker

Muddler

2 short glasses

Method

Make sure you use a metal cocktail shaker for this drink because it gives you a much better froth. Add the raspberries and agave nectar to the cocktail shaker and muddle until the mixture turns into a pulp. Next add the pisco, lemon juice and egg whites. Pop the lid on and shake like crazy!The more you shake, the better the froth.

Add a few ice cubes to each glass and pour the drink through the lid of the cocktail shaker – the holes are big enough to allow the froth to pour through.

Garnish each one with a couple of extra raspberries and enjoy.
