If you’re short of time in the morning, get a vitamin boost with this Raspberry-lemon beetroot blast. And whatever you do, don’t skip breakfast as this will cause adrenal overload and make it harder to lose weight. This is because it will cause your body to produce cortisol, which has negative effects on fat metabolism.
The mixed berries in this recipe can be frozen with a handful of spinach, to balance the glycaemic load and to help release energy steadily. You can also add coconut water to this recipe, to increase electrolyte levels, while a teaspoon of cinnamon will further increase blood sugar regulation.
Ingredients
175g mixed berries
Handful of spinach
½ piece beetroot
1tsp Wiley’s Lemon flavoured Wild Alaskan Fish Oil
Plant-based protein powder if desired, to top up protein content
200ml of unsweetened almond or rice milk also
1tsp cinnamon
Coconut water, optional
