If you fancy a tasty and healthy snack that’ll fuel a workout and beyond, make up a big batch of this no-bake bites recipe. It’s packed with protein from peanuts and healthy fats from flaxseed to make sure your body is getting plenty of important nutrients.
Ingredients (makes approx. 12 bars)
125g natural peanut butter
4tbsp local honey
4tbsp coconut oil
500g oats
170g ground flaxseed
30g peanuts
Method
Melt peanut butter, honey, and coconut oil together in a small saucepan over low/medium heat, stirring constantly.
In mixing bowl, combine all other ingredients.
Pour liquid mixture over dry mixture and stir until well combined.
Let it cool for several minutes.
Place mixture into a parchment lined or silicon pan, (approximately 8cm×8cm pan) press down firmly.
Place in fridge or freezer to set.
Once set cut into 12 bars. Store in fridge for best results.
Tip! Try adding dark chocolate chips for an extra treat! If doing this, sprinkle them liberally on top of the bars and press into the mixture before placing in the fridge.
