Healthy hot chocolate recipe

If you love your evening hot chocolate and fancy that sweet fix minus the refined sugar and dairy cream, why not try this superfood version?

Ingredients (makes 2 servings)

4tbsp cacao powder

500ml almond milk

2tsp honey

100g cashew nuts

Half a tin of coconut milk

1tsp cinnamon

1tsp coconut oil

Method

Blitz the cashew nuts, coconut milk, coconut oil and cinnamon together in a high powdered blender until perfectly smooth to make cashew cream. Place in the fridge to set.

Warm the milk in a small saucepan.

Add the honey and cacao powder to the warm milk to make chocolate milk and simmer while stirring well.

Pour the chocolate milk evenly into two mugs, spoon the cashew cream onto each and add a sprinkling of cinnamon or cacao powder on top.
