Trifle

Want to have your cake and eat it this Christmas? Now you can! Trifle is a popular festive dessert but the combo of custard and cream usually lays on the calories.

Make it healthy: Sidestep the sherry and substitute custard for Greek yoghurt flavoured with a vanilla pod. Blend low-GI fruit like strawberries and raspberries together to make a fruit puree instead of using jam, and top your trifle with fresh fruit for an antioxidant hit. Delish!
