Make your Christmas spread work harder on the healthy eating front with Louise’s tips for a healthy Christmas dinner!

Diet sabotage is practically everywhere you look when it comes to the festive season so it can be extra difficult keeping your healthy eating on track. ‘People generally eat out a lot more during the festive period, which can disturb our regular eating habits. It’s also harder to stay motivated during this busy month,’ says Amy Betts, fitness and nutrition expert at The Training Room. But Christmas also offers a wealth of incredible health-giving foods, which, if prepared well can offer countless diet benefits. Here’s our rundown of the best festive fare to try:

Turkey

The big bird takes centre stage on Christmas day and thankfully you can indulge guilt-free as turkey is a ridiculously healthy protein source. It’s super-lean and full of feel-good tryptophan.

Make it healthy: The breast is the leanest part of the bird, so stick to the white turkey breast. Peel off the skin and you’ll also shave off hundreds of calories.
