Get your five-a-day in one sip with this cherry ripe cocktail.
This silky-smooth cherry ripe cocktail is inspired by one of my favourite Aussie chocolate treats – the ‘Cherry Ripe’. The combination of cherries, chocolate and coconut is highly addictive as I’m sure you’ll agree. Apart from being delicious, cherries contain loads of powerful antioxidants. And cacao is said to improve your mood, prevent ageing and give you energy!
Ingredients (serves 2)
50ml vodka
40ml cherry brandy
40ml crème de cacao
80g frozen pitted cherries
50ml tart cherry juice
30ml maple syrup
2tsp raw cacao powder
100ml coconut cream
Ice cubes
Fresh cherries, cacao nibs and cherry chocolate, to garnish

High-speed blender
2 short glasses
Method
Place the vodka, cherry brandy, crème de cacao, frozen cherries and cherry juice into a high-speed blender. Blend for a minute – or until completely smooth. Add the maple syrup, raw cacao powder and coconut cream to the blender and blend for a further 30 seconds.
Fill the serving glasses with ice and divide the drink between the glasses. Garnish with a few fresh cherries, a sprinkling of cacao nibs and a strip of cherry chocolate.
