Bloom bliss balls recipe

These raw food balls are coloured green thanks to the addition of health-food-of-the-moment matcha powder. This is made from ground up, whole matcha green tea leaves and contains small amounts of various vitamins and minerals, but its main claim to fame is its high levels of the polyphenol compounds, catechins – a type of antioxidant.

One study found that matcha contains three times more of the catechins epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) – an antioxidant linked to fighting cancer, viruses and heart disease – compared to other types of green tea.

Ingredients

1tsp BLOOM Ultra Cleanse Matcha Powder

1 cup raw cashews

8 dates

1tbsp hemp hearts

1tbsp goji berries

2tbsp honey

2tbsp unsweetened coconut shreds

Method

Blend all ingredients in a food processor on high speed until it forms a smooth paste.

Roll the mixture into balls.

Then roll into additional coconut shreds to cover if desired.
