This blackcurrant superfood smoothie recipe is a great source of magnesium, a mineral that helps keep our nervous system healthy. It’s also a top source of fibre with 40 per cent of your daily requirement per serving. British blackcurrants are renowned and bred for their deep purple colour, which indicates a high level of anthocyanins – important disease-fighting antioxidants. As well as protecting against colds and flu, these antioxidants can also help guard against the effects of ageing, joint inflammation, eyestrain, kidney stones, cardiovascular disease, cancer and urinary tract infections. British Blackcurrants can be bought frozen online at britishblackcurrants.co.uk
