5. Oats
‘Oats boost relaxation for several reasons. Being complex carbohydrates, they enhance the absorption of tryptophan, which leads to the production of serotonin, a brain chemical that helps the body relax. Oats are also rich in Vitamin B6 (for energy) and melatonin, a hormone which supports relaxation and sleep. Just ensure it’s the sugar-free variety!’
