Tuck into a few treats without piling on the pounds with personal trainer Kate Burrows’ (kbpersonaltraining.co.uk) 3 secrets to a guilt-free Easter.

1. If you are going to have an Easter treat, earn it!
Do an extra class at the gym, run/walk home from work, take a Boris bike for a ride in your lunch hour, incorporate extra exercise into your day. Before you indulge, ask yourself what you have done or what are you going to do to deserve the treat.

2. Be aware of portion size

You do not need to eat a family pack of Mini Eggs or a giant Easter egg. Allow yourself a treat but give yourself a limit (like a small Easter egg on Easter Sunday) and stop when you’ve eaten it. Easier said than done, granted. But you’ll feel so much better.

3. Make your social plans active

Over the Easter holidays why not arrange to meet a friend for yoga, a game of tennis or a walk in the park? Making the commitment of doing something active with someone can give you the extra push you need to do it!
