We’ve said it once and we’ll say in again, but breakfast really is the most important meal of the day, an a healthy breakfast far outranks a sugar-laden one. Eating a protein rich breakfast can prevent overeating throughout the remainder of the day, great if you’re watching your waistline!

Try swapping your toast or cereal for one of our protein-packed options and get a healthy morning boost, which will carry you through the day!

1. Spinach omelette
An oldie, but a goodie, eggs are high in protein and a good source of vitamin D. Add in star superfood spinach for a hearty dose of iron and vitamin K, to name just a few of the benefits of this leafy green.

2. Nut butter
Nuts are full of goodness and make a great alternative to a sugary jam. Spread nut butter on anything you like – we heart Meridian’s organic peanut butter on wholegrain toast or rye bread. You could even add chopped apple or a banana, go nuts!

3. Teff porridge
A healthy alternative if you’re sensitive to oats, teff is the gluten-free superfood we just can’t get enough of. Make it by combining with milk and adding fruit. Check out this recipe.
