We caught up with Chloe Walker to talk about why fashion and fitness are a match made in heaven.
Q. Where did your interest in fashion come from?
A. I always loved dressing myself when I was younger. Then, when I became old enough to buy my own clothes, I enjoyed having the freedom to experiment and figure out my personal style.
Q. Why do you think fitness fashion has taken off in such a big way over the last few years?
A. Fashion has a way of making people both feel and look good. The same can be said of fitness, so naturally the two go together well.
Q. What fitness fashion brands are you most excited about at the moment?
A. I’m a huge fan of Tully Lou and Charli Cohen – they have some great high-fashion pieces.
Q. What fitness fashion trends are you most excited about?
A. Metallic pieces are on trend and I think they’re a great way to brighten up your typical gym outfit.
Q. What are your top tips for creating a stylish, but flattering gym wardrobe?
A. Choose something you’re comfortable in – you can only ever look your best when you feel your best too. Adding in colour is also important to breathe life into your workout.
Q. What pieces do you really love this season?
A. I’m loving everything from the Sweaty Betty x Richard Nicoll collection. It’s such a great combination of feminine and fierce.
Q. What piece of kit, do you really want someone to design?
A. Fitness leggings that look like jeans on one side and then your typical funky patterned workout legging on the reverse. It would come in very handy when I’m going to the gym in the evening and just want to look like I’m wearing jeans throughout the day.
Q. What’s in your gym bag?
A. Headphones, iPod, Bobble bottle, trainers and deodorant.
Q. What do you do to keep fit/stay in shape?
A. At the moment I’m training for my first marathon so a lot of running. But usually I stick to Pilates and the gym. I also find that simply stretching can work wonders.
Q. What’s your favourite healthy meal?
A. A huge quinoa salad full of fruit and veg – lots of sweet potato.
Q. What’s your favourite cheat treat?
A. I have a serious peanut butter obsession and have a tendency to treat myself by eating it like it’s ice cream. Failing that, pancakes are always a good idea.
A. What’s your favourite workout tune?
A. Charli XCX, Boom Clap
