Tone your arms while hitting the all-important core with the military press

If you want your arms to look tight and toned, then exercises that hit the biceps and triceps are of course a must. But working the shoulders is another sure-fire way to get your arms looking awesome, too. Hands down, the most popular shoulder exercise is the simple shoulder press, but if you simply adjust your stance during this move, you could target your core and improve balance while you’re at it.

Instructions

Stand with feet together, holding a barbell in front of your shoulders, palms up.

Extend the arms to push the barbell up to the ceiling.

Lower and repeat.

 

Top tips:

Don’t let your lower back overarch as you push up.

Make sure your chin is well out of the way of the barbell.
