Sitting down at a desk all day? Do the hip flexor stretch everyday to reduce tightness and prevent injury

If you sit down a lot during the day, chances are you’ve developed tight hip flexors as a result. This can be dangerous, especially for runners, making you prone to injury. Stretching your hip flexors out everyday will not only reduce YOUR chance of injury by tackling tightness, but it’ll also improve your posture and help you to perform better in the gym.

Instructions

Kneel down with one leg in front of you at a right ankle, foot flat on the floor.

Keeping your hips square, sink down and forwards into the stretch.

Hold for 10-20 seconds, then switch sides.

Top tips:

Take your front foot further forwards to sink deeper into the stretch.

Make sure you’re leaning straight ahead.
