Speedo introduces Make 1K Wet
Speedo introduces Make 1K Wet with Nathalie Emmanuel, a new campaign which encourages people to improve their fitness through swimming.
What is it?
Make 1K Wet shows runners how to swap 5K on the road for 1K in the pool. This helps runners to become fitter and stronger while enjoying the benefits of a full-body workout through swimming. It’s great way to showcase to mileage-driven runners that they can achieve just as much through swimming. And maybe even see some added benefits!
The star of the pool
Nathalie – who is best known for her roles in Game of Thrones, Furious 7 and the Maze Runner film series – has been spending time in the pool with the help of Speedo Make 1K Wet coach Annie Emmerson and French Olympic swimmer Florent Manaudou.
The global star, who recently got back into swimming after learning to dive for a film role, noted that she has seen huge improvements in her fitness by following the Make 1K Wet training plan.
The actress said: ‘By learning a few simple skills I’m much more capable in the water; I feel stronger, I’ve got more energy and I’m sleeping better. What’s more, I’ve seen how swimming has helped my overall fitness, I can now run harder and faster for longer.’
Why?
A recent international study conducted by OnePoll of people who swim and run found that 85.81% of people said swimming helps enhance their performance when running. Furthermore, the study also found that 87% of people said swimming helps improve their stamina when running and taking part in other fitness activities.
Make 1K Wet, which is designed by former ITU triathlete and duathlete Annie Emmerson, features a series of simple 1K swim training plans from beginner to advanced level. But don’t worry if you don’t have much experience in the pool. The programme is for all abilities, whether you work out for fitness or for fun.
