If you’re serious about results, then a core workout is non-negotiable. It’s necessary for pretty much every exercise you do in the gym in order to keep good form, not to mention for sports and functioning on a daily basis. Working the core is also a must if you want to achieve a flat stomach – tummy toners are great, but core exercises keep the stomach pulled in, making you appear slim and slender.

Try 10 reps/30 seconds of each of these core moves for 3-5 sets, making sure you keep perfect form from beginning to end, never allowing your lower back to overarch. Take 30-45 seconds’ break between each set (or longer if you feel the strain in your lower back) – your core will start to get tired, so take the rest you need to ensure your form stays good throughout every rep and set.
