PT and blogger Zanna van Dijk has created this easy-to-make, healthier version of yummy Snickers chocolate bars. These are packed full of protein, so they are the ideal fuel for a tough training session.
Ingredients
For the bottom layer:
1 cup peanut butter
3 scoops vanilla whey protein
2 cups oats
½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or you can use cow’s milk)
For the middle layer:
1/3 cup peanut butter
For the top layer:
100g dark chocolate (choose 85 per cent +)
Method
Combine all the ingredients for the bottom layer in a bowl and press the mixture down into a small tray.
Then spread the middle layer of peanut butter evenly over the base. Freeze until set (around 1 hour).
Finally, melt the dark chocolate and spread it over the top of the bars. Freeze again until it has set.
Once set, chop into bars and store in the fridge for up to a week.
