‘Well, this run certainly lived up to its name! If you haven’t signed up yet, this is something everyone should do at least once in their life time! This was my first time taking part in the race, I have run 5Ks before, but nothing like this! This races puts the fun factor back into working out and it was amazing to see so many people come together for a great cause.

‘Exiting the tube station you’re surrounded by thousands of grinning participants en route to the starting line and all you can see coming towards you are swarms of people on their way back from the previous wave covered in head-to-toe multi-coloured powder.

‘On arrival I met up with the lovely AJ Odudu, Georgina and Zanna Van Dijk who I ran the 5k course with – my advice to anyone taking part is definitely do it in a group, the bigger the better, you’ll have more fun on the way round! We made our way over to the media tent to get ready – I pulled up my neon The Color Run branded socks, splashed on some face paint and we were ready to go!

‘The warm-up was so much fun! Imagine thousands of people all in fancy dress jumping up and down to your favourite tunes, if that’s not the to get hyped for a 5K run I don’t know what is!

‘The course starts with a small uphill section, but have no fear it’s the only incline you’ll have to do! After about 1K you’re hit with the first wave of colour, from then on you run through multiple branded stands where you are sprayed with coloured powdered from head to toe – it’s crazy fun! This event is definitely geared up to be for all abilities; everyone is super happy whether they are walking or sprinting round. Sadly the race was over before I knew it which is a shame because it’s so fun you want it to go on forever!

‘The best bit of the course by far was the end where Capital FM have a celebration stand and crowds of people are jumping up and down in unison to their favourite tracks, then every now and again there is a blast and a cloud of coloured powder covers the whole crowd! One tip – keep your mouth closed!

‘All in all, I would definitely recommend the The Color Run – it’s the perfect intro to anyone looking to take up running: everyone is so encouraging and you don’t realise you’re running 5K! Book in now for the next event and celebrate healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community with The Color Run!’
