Want to glow with radiance? Try these 5 oils for beautiful skin.

There are so many beauty creams, serums and lotions on the market that promise flawless and beautiful skin. And for sure they do wonders, but there are quite a few nut and seed oils that can deliver amazing results without any harmful chemicals.

These are 5 of our favourites. Try them out and see for yourself…

Rosehip oil

Rosehip oil is great for dry or ageing skin and for minimising fine lines and scars. It’s rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are known to help wound healing and heal scar tissue, and its high retinoic acid content makes it a perfect aid to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and brighten skin.

It also contains antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory compounds that not only refine skin texture and tone, but are also helpful to manage conditions such as psoriasis and dermatitis.

The oil extracted from the Rosa Mosqueta variety is especially high in vitamin A and omega-3, -6, and -9. It has amazing properties such as helping to reduce dryness, signs of ageing, crow’s feet, and it can help to fade and prevent stretch marks during pregnancy, keeping the skin hydrated and soft.

Apply a few drops before bed and massage on your face and neck.

Jojoba oil

A light oil that is easily-absorbed and chemically very similar to the skin’s sebum, so is able to trick it into producing less oil.

It contains vitamin E, which promotes a clear and even skin tone, and high levels of antioxidants that protect against the damaging effects of free radicals and sun exposure.

It’s great to manage acne because it contains antimicrobial compounds, which inhibit the growth of many bacteria.

Use it on both your face and body for great hydration and protection.

Argan oil

Argan oil is a great natural moisturiser for the whole body, including your face, neck, hands and nails.

Its antioxidant properties make it the ideal anti-ageing product, restoring elasticity and leaving skin plumper and softer with less visible wrinkles. The antioxidants in argan oil are also beneficial in reducing inflammation, increasing healing rate of sunburn and soothing dry or sore skin. It’s also perfect to prevent further dryness and irritation in conditions such as eczema, providing immediate relief.

It also makes hair softer, silkier and shinier and it’s an ideal conditioner that can even help to treat split ends and tame frizzy hair.

Massage a few drops on your face and neck before bed, or before your daily moisturising cream.

Sea buckthorn oil

Sea buckthorn berries are loaded with antioxidants such as vitamin A, C and E – all important for the production of collagen and cell turnover, and for preventing wrinkles and reducing skin roughness when applied topically.

One of its main moisturising agents is the omega-7 fatty acid palmitoleic acid, which has proven to be useful for treating systemic skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis – as it has anti-inflammatory properties that help calm the skin.

This beautiful oil can be used on hair too, as omega-3s and vitamin A are essential for scalp health, along with vitamin C, which aids scalp blood circulation – vital for shiny and strong hair.

Apply directly on the skin as needed, or consume internally in an oil or capsule form.

Avocado oil

The vitamins and minerals in avocado oil boost skin health and appearance. Vitamin E, potassium, and lecithin are easily absorbed and promote growth of new skin as well as protect existing cells.

Due to its high concentration of anti-inflammatory oleic acid, avocado oil can be applied topically to ease discomfort caused by skin conditions such as cracked heels, sunburn, psoriasis and eczema.

And let’s not forget how great it is for nourishing locks, improving the hair’s appearance and structure, making it shiny and soft.

Apply a tablespoon on your mane and leave in for 20 -30 minutes, then shampoo and rinse to get its full benefits.
