Before you spend another penny on miracle creams, try these 5 foods that make you more beautiful. Because nature always seems to have the answer to everything!

If we look back for thousands of years, people have been using natural ingredients for medical and aesthetic reasons. So if the time-tested things work, then why not stick to them? We’ve found the most popular foods that are used in skincare and listed our favourite products that contain them. Just don’t go eating them!

Avocado

Avocados are packed full of beneficial antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. We all know that eating them gives us a glow, but putting them directly onto skin can also work wonders. This is a wonderful way to treat dehydrated skin, as it has amazing moisturising abilities. We love Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, as it helps to gently moisturise our delicate under-eye area, and helps to restore natural moisture and give skin a much-needed boost.

Honey

Honey has long been used in homemade beauty treatments for its big benefits! It has amazing antibacterial properties and is packed full of skin-saving antioxidants. It’s a great way to help prevent acne, boost your complexion and unclog pores. Treat yourself to Laura Mercier’s Creme Brûlée Honey Bath to cleanse, soothe and condition the skin. It’s delicately fragranced with French vanilla beans and white musk. The natural ingredients firm, lift and tone the skin, while vitamins A and E moisturise and condition.

Coffee

Known for waking us up on the inside, coffee can have great results when used on the outside too. It’s a great natural exfoliator that buffs away dry and dead skin to leave it feeling super soft. Scrub away tiredness with Frank Body Original Body Scrub. Just don’t try to brew a coffee with it afterwards!

 Oatmeal

Oatmeal is great to use if you suffer from sensitive, allergy- or eczema-prone skin, as it’s an excellent skin-healing moisturiser. It’s full of antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory, which makes it gentle on skin. It works as a natural cleanser, and helps to reverse damage caused by harmful UV rays. If you suffer from dandruff or a sensitive scalp, try REN Oat and Bay Conditioning Shampoo for beautifully-cleansed hair.

Coconut oil

From de-frizzing hair to moisturising skin, and even removing make-up, this does it all! One thing we love to use it on is our teeth, as it’s a great way to whiten them or prevent tooth decay thanks to its antibacterial properties. Try Sister & Co Raw Coconut and Activated Charcoal Tooth Whitening Polish for dazzlingly teeth.
