Work out without leaving your lounge

In the depths of winter, dragging yourself out of a warm house to go the gym or for a run outside can be tough, and if you are snowed in it can be impossible. Luckily, the internet has a wealth of online workouts, so you can exercise in the comfort and warmth of your own home… although this does require getting out of bed. We’ve trawled the internet to show you some of the best online workouts to make staying fit this Christmas as easy as (mince) pie.

Body by Simone workout get fit 4 free – Sweaty Betty

Sportswear brand Sweaty Betty gives us this 40-minute video as part of its Get Fit 4 Free campaign. The high intensity, dance-based workout also includes floor exercise for the lower body. With 40 minutes of cardio, plus lower body toning, the video includes everything needed for a great all-over workout. A yoga mat and plenty of floor space are the only equipment required.

Glutes & thighs trimdown! – Blogilates

Blogilates does it again with this 12-minute exercise targeting bum and thighs. Cassey Ho, creator of the Pilates-based workout videos, adds yet another video to a vast collection. This workout is quick and it’s hard not to be encouraged by Cassey’s enthusiasm and excitement. Grab a yoga mat and get to it.

At home cardio workout – Fitness Blender

This 25-minute workout from Fitness Blender is great for all levels as it provides modifications to make the exercises higher or lower impact. The best thing about this video is that no equipment is necessary, just a large enough space to complete the exercises.

Jillian Michaels: banish fat boost metabolism complete workout – BeFit

American fitness legend and The Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels leads this 45-minute full body workout, courtesy of BeFit YouTube channel. Jillian definitely makes up for the lack of treadmills and cross-trainers as she pushes you to the limit.

Work out: dance cardio to burn fat with Danielle Peazer – ICON UK 

This video is part of the ICON UK YouTube Channel that centres arounds health, beauty and wellness. This eight-minute video is a perfect cardio workout if you are short of time, and it requires no equipment just plenty of energy. The workout is just one of many dance-based workouts from model and dancer Danielle Peazer. It’s hard not be encouraged by her rock-hard abs and stomach.
