Upgrade your workout to take your results to the next level.

Yes, it’s nice to belong to a gym with all the latest kit – from those big rubber logs that you throw around (they’re technically called ViPRs) to those walls with all the flashing lights on (I have absolutely no idea). But do you really need all that stuff to get in shape? Well, no, not really. Chances are, even if your existing workout’s getting stale, you can ramp things up – and shock your body into reshaping itself even faster – with a couple of simple tweaks to moves you’re already doing. Let’s go: but please remember that I said ‘simple’, not ‘easy.’

Change the burpee to…the chest-to-floor burpee

If you’re used to the standard burpee – down, feet out, feet in, up and jump – then going chest-to-deck is going to be a shock. Not only will you get an extra fat-burning boost from the increased range of motion, but getting up off the floor will also work your arms harder than the basic version. Two for the price of one!
