As fitness fans around the world know: abs are made in the kitchen. A balanced diet that’s tailored to your workout routine is key to reaching your fitness goals and will improve your performance and health. In fact, according to Virgin Active health clubs, those who combined fitness with the right nutrition are ten times more likely to reach their goals than those who don’t.

So to help its members make better post-workout food choices, Virgin Active has teamed up with nutrition experts at Soulmatefood and introduced the Diet Code in the cafes at 60 of its clubs.

The Diet Code offers a variety of fresh and tasty meals, snacks and juices that are coded either ‘Burn’, ‘Balance’ or ‘Build’, depending on what results you want. To start your day, choose from the low-carb Aussie Breakfast, or if you need energy, carb-up with the Bircher Museli. And don’t forget to try the protein shakes, juices and smoothies.

Head of fitness at Virgin Active, Andy Birch explains: ‘We want every single member to have the nutritional knowledge to not take fad diets at face value, to understand good nutrition, to not be swayed by marketing myths, and most importantly to always ask ‘how will this help me?’

Sounds like a great idea!
