5 things we loved about Wilderness Festival

WHL headed to Cornbury Park last weekend and to say we had the best time ever is a bit of an understatement. Here are just 5 things we loved about Wilderness Festival.

1. The music

Bjork, George Clinton and Ben Howard might’ve been serious headliners to boast about, but the supporting line-up was something to get excited about, too. We had a great time chilling out to Asgeir, jumping up and down to Jeremy Loops and singing our hearts out to Lapsley. Listening to it all under clear blue skies and glorious sunshine was just the cherry on top.

2. The food

Festival food offerings have come a really long way. Big-time players Patty & Bun, Duck & Waffle and Popdogs were of course there to make sure we were happily well-fed, but we loved the smaller stands too, whose crumpets, pancakes and sweet treats made us feel like we were at a school fete all over again.

3. The Original Muck Boot Company horsebox stand

Festivals are nothing without a good pair of wellies, and Muck Boots stole the show last weekend. From knee-high patent styles to low-key ankle-height boots, they had something for everyone. The best part? The foraging talk with Adele Nozedar, where we learnt loads about nature, nutrition and wellbeing.

4. The valley party

If watching your favourite acts sing as the sun sets isn’t enough for you, take your after party to the valley. The rave goes on until 5am, and there you’ll find a true mix of people, from hardcore house-lovers to hippies. Can you last until dawn?

5. The health and fitness aspect

Going to festivals isn’t all about cider, food and partying – although it’d be rude not to partake. Wilderness was one of the best festivals we’d been to in terms of opportunities to stay active. Swimming in the lake was a real highlight, while organised runs, yoga and horse riding were all popular choices, too.
