Getting bored of your workout? Or even where you’re doing it? You might want to check out new fitness destination 1Rebel.

It’s the brainchild of James Balfour and Giles Dean, offering prospective rebels an entirely different experience to their local gym

Hot on the fitness scene is 1Rebel, a brand new luxurious health and fitness venue that promises to whip your body into shape, stylishly. It’s the brainchild of James Balfour (heir of Fitness First) and Giles Dean (Cambridge law graduate), offering prospective rebels an entirely different experience to their local gym; including a no-membership or contract model, a juice-lounge bar and even a retail hub. The brand currently has one studio on St Mary Axe, in the heart of the City of London and is about to open its second home in the city on Broadgate Circle.

The model is simple: you purchase a package with either one, five, 10, 25 or 50 session(s) (with the biggest package working out to be the cheapest per session – £12) and then book in your session as you go along. How to be a rebel? You can choose between two workout options: Rebel Ride and Rebel Reshape. Ride is an indoor cycling class that incorporates weights and resistance bands, while Reshape is a conditioning class that includes the treadmill and the patented 1R workout platform to really push your body to its limits.

And after your sweat-out? 1Rebel don’t do things by halves; you get complimentary tri-temperature towels and water, oversized showers, spacious changing rooms and even a vanity area that’s fully equipped with premium toiletries and loads of appliances. Once you’re done enjoying those facilities, it’s onto the next: refuel at the healthy Roots + Bulbs juice and snack bar, which offers anything from a chia seed pot, to a more filling smoked mackerel fillet alongside a smoothie or juice. If you still have time, browse the sports-luxe fashion range, which features items from sports designer-of-the-moment, Charli Cohen.

And if you don’t have the time for the complete experience? Come back another day with a friend and show them around your new playground. You’ll soon make a rebel of them all.
