If you’re struggling to fit it all in, kill two birds with one stone with the culture-fitness combo you need in your life, courtesy of Equinox and @runlikeelle.

The 21st century woman has a lot on her plate – with careers taking up the majority of the day, plus family, social demands, love life and, of course, working out, it can be hard to indulge in some culture as well. So we were ecstatic when we found out about the London #ArtsRun route – the perfect way to get your daily dose of culture without sacrificing your keep-fit time.

Equinox has teamed up with Elle Hankinson of @runlikeelle to give culture-loving runners a chance to experience the best of our capital city. The tailor-made route is a fantastic opportunity to get off the treadmill and into the summer air, touring some of the best landmarks London has to offer, as well as a showcase of some of the leading arts institutions to peruse after your run.

The route
Starting at Equinox, the run winds through Kensington and past the Serpentine, V&A, Natural History Museum, Saatchi Gallery, Queen Victoria Memorial and Royal Albert Hall just to name a few. If you’re lucky enough to live in the capital, this is a great way to experience all the sights of your hometown, and for tourists it’s much more fun than a stuffy sightseeing bus! The route is five miles in total, but you can of course tailor it to your fitness goals or even factor in a trip to the sights for a healthy lunch break. Why not take your friends and make a day of it?

Equinox has partnered up with London-based artist Guillaume Cornet to give you a great illustrated map to help you on your way, and for a more lifelike view of what’s to come, film-maker and photographer Henry Knock has captured a first-hand view of the run in a hyperlapse film. Check it out for inspiration and to get pumped for your first time running the #ArtsRun.
