Nail your party look with these head-to-toe beauty tips

It’s that time of the year again, when sequins, metallics and glitter are everywhere. Everyone loves a good holiday party, and there’s no doubt that we all want to be looking our best. It’s not called the ultimate party season for nothing.

However, it can be stressful, not to mention slightly expensive to put together the killer outfit in time for your Christmas celebrations. So, whether it’s a fancy Christmas or something more low-key, here are our top beauty tips that will get you party ready.

Face

Contouring, famously popularised by the Kardashians, is a make-up technique that helps to sculpt the face, leaving fierce cheek bones and luminous brow arches. It was big in 2015 and it’s trending again this year, however it’s back with a twist. This season, it’s all about highlighting the cheekbones in a much easier and less make-up heavy way, opting for a bright blush rather than dark beige tones for the ‘barely there’ festive look.

Lips

Good news: red lipstick is here to stay this season. One of the most iconic beauty looks of all time, a red lip looks good on everyone so don’t be shy to rock your favourite shade. It doesn’t matter if you’re a ‘tomato rouge’ or ‘plum matte’ kinda girl, make your own statement this party season.

Eyes

You know it’s Christmas when adults start ’Tis the season for the sparkly stuff – and we can’t contain our excitement! Glitter has become a make-up Christmas hit and, when done carefully, can give off a magical touch of sophisticated sparkle for your party makeover. But less is defiantly more in this instance. Stick to lighter shades – gold and silver are amongst our favourites. Dab a bit in the inner corners and the centre of each eyelid for some fun, flirty eye attraction.

Hair

Nothing screams party season more than a glamorous updo. Top knots and tousled bobs are timeless classics and they’re trending again this winter, so simply go with the flow and throw your hair into an effortlessly chic chignon, allowing your front layers to fall for a touch of drama. For those with shorter hair, wavy cropped bobs are on the rise this season, thanks to the likes of Jourdan Dunn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Swift. Add a little heat to the ends by curling the strands in towards your face and that quick hair-iron trick will certainly make your locks runway ready.

Nails

Let your nails do the talking this season with dark hues and metallics – they’re this year’s hottest festive trends. Plums, blues and glossy purples are making a mighty comeback, so get ready to dip your nails into the dark side for a mesmerising polish.
