Thanks to a lack of lovely sunlight, the winter might be the time you’ll want to fake the fresh-faced look. So if you want to look radiant during the colder months, you may want to listen up.

BB creams launched into Europe in 2011 (following huge success in Asia) and quickly became a make-up bag staple for beauty fans. Five years on the market has grown, with CC creams, DD creams and tinted moisturisers all following their BB predecessors in hot pursuit. So what are these products? The general idea is that they act more as a restorative moisturiser and less as a high-coverage foundation. The majority boast great SPF protection, colour-correcting properties and beneficial ingredients for the skin, such as hyaluronic acid and antioxidants to regenerate and repair. Plus, they offer sheer coverage; enough to balance out skin tone and conceal blemishes but minimal enough to barely see or feel it. The result? Wonderfully glowing skin that looks naturally flawless and is being repaired and protected throughout the day. Essentially, they’re the perfect way to fake that fresh-faced look (even in winter) and we’ve cherry-picked our current saviours. Don’t say we don’t treat you…
