Creamy quark porridge with honeyed berries recipe

This creamy quark porridge with honeyed berries recipe is a breakfast favourite that’s tantalisingly creamy, yet surprisingly low in fat

Serves: 4 (258 kcals each)

Prep time: 10 mins

Cook time: 5 mins

Ingredients

250g mixed berries such as blueberries and raspberries

3 tbsp clear honey

150g porridge oats

750ml water

200g Lake District Dairy Co. Vanilla Quark

Method

First make the compote: Place the berries and honey in a small pan and gently bring to the boil, simmering gently until the berries have softened. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.

To make the porridge: Place the oats and water together in a non-stick pan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer over a gentle heat for 4-5 mins, stirring occasionally until the mixture has thickened.

Add in the Lake District Dairy Co. Vanilla Quark and stir in until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Remove from the heat.

Serve in bowls, topped with the compote.
